Home made Christmas diarama with reversible backdrop (by a 7yr old)

Getting right into the Christmas spirit, my little boy decided that he wanted to get creative after school one day. Of course he could have made any themed display, but since it was Christmas  - Without any warning or questioning, he just put his bag down, got the craft box that was still in the lounge room and created this in an hour or so. He wanted the cardboard box from when we went shopping for some reason and now we know why!

Starting with an empty box ,of a medium size (or any size you like) which was white on the inside, this already made the snow an easy effect to replicate, as snow is white too!(if you cant find a box with white on the inside you can always paint it with a non toxic paint for childrens craft or line the box with desired coloured paper and glue in. Then with some A4 sized white printer paper, he proceeded to place a few flat on one side of the open box (as shown in the picture) to assist in the effect of a complete white snowed covered floor and to give a better medium for the glue stick the paper to stick too.

Ripping some of the paper into smaller section, he started to scrunch them up into different sized balls, and gluing the large one sheet of scrunched up paper to the base, he stuck a few progressively smaller ones on top of one another to form snowmen, snow covered Christmas trees and small snow mounds.he added some Christmas stickers as well.

Using a glue stick and some glitter, he sprinkled it over to give a more Christmas festive look, and coupled that with one tree being decorated with a bit of green marker.

The backdrop of the display was done more or less in the same way by him, but since it was white of both sides and was a separate piece of cardboard, he decided to make one side a simple picture of a garden path leading up to a house (pictured) so that it looks like a view from the street. The other side was of a toy factory drawn in much the same manner. The decorating of Christmas stickers add some still motion to the picture too. The backdrop could be turned around at any time.

The final addition that he did was the mountain at the side (of which I thought it was a tree to start with). Being just another folded piece of A4 printer paper  glued on with another cut strip of the same, we did a little blue lagoon at the bottom to give it more effect!
